Have you heard the term graduate programmes mentioned a lot just recently but have no idea what one actually is? Let us tell you, you’re not the only one.
A graduate programme is a structured work-based training programme; this means you’ll get paid to work, gain practical experience in different areas of an organisation as well as continuing with your learning journey. They come in all different shapes and sizes from local businesses to large corporate companies. To industries ranging from, hospitality to construction, retail and engineering, to name a few. It’s all about finding your niche.
Most organisations look at qualifications achieved at 2:1, don’t worry if you’ve not achieved this result, some companies will still consider applicants with a 2:2, providing you can give examples of skills and experience gained through studying, voluntary work, hobbies, work experience.
The programmes can range in length, they can be anything between 3 months to 3 years long, it all depends on what employment industry you choose and the qualification you’re working towards.
