Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:

Your primary focus will be the development of Android applications and their integration with back-end services
You will be working alongside other engineers and developers working on different layers of the infrastructure
Working closely with the development team
Collaborative problem solving
Creating quality products
Requirements and prospects
Desired skills
An understanding of the following would be advantageous but not a necessity.

Familiarity with object-oriented programming languages
Using and integrating web APIs
Familiarity with unit testing
Familiarity with SQL, REST, JIRA
Familiar with Agile development
Proficient in Java
Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
Solid understanding of the full software development lifecycle
Personal qualities
An ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team
An ability to work on a series of projects at one time
Able to complete a project from start to finish
A great communicator, both verbal and written
Desired qualifications
5 GCSEs grades A-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths).

Training provider
The Estio Training programme gives young people the opportunity to get hands on experience in the IT industry whilst still employed in a real paid job with no cost or debt.

Learners will receive ten weeks of intensive training. Whilst in the workplace, apprentices will also receive continual assessment, and help and guidance from a dedicated trainer who will be there to ensure that they get the most from their work experience.

This apprenticeship will give you a Level 3 Software Development Technician Standard with training in areas such as:

Functional skills, Maths L2 and English L2
Software Design Fundamentals
User Interface Design
System Development
Software Development Context and Methodologies
Database Software
Some of these modules will include an option to take an examination in order to receive a professional certificate.
