This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who would like to begin their career in the care industry. Welbourn Hall Nursing Home is located in the village of Welbourn and is easily accessible from Grantham, Sleaford, Newark and Lincoln. The Home is close to all the local amenities.
We work closely with, early stage dementia and older people with low level mental health disorders.
Your duties include:
-Assisting service users with personal care including washing, dressing and undressing, as per care plan,
-Providing all assistance in accordance with service users dietary and fluid intake, and report changes to senior staff as necessary,
-Recording all care provided in appropriate documentation and inform senior staff of any changes to health status,
-Maintaining confidentiality at all times, both in and out of work,
-Encouraging all service users to maintain their personal, physical and intellectual independence and in accordance with their care plan,
-Assisting service users with all their toileting needs, and promote continence as appropriate,
-Encouraging all service users to communicate their individual care needs and update care plans to reflect this with the assistance of a senior member of staff,
-Ensuring all actions taken promote the individual’s wishes,
-Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of service users room, personal belongings and communal areas such as bathroom and cupboards,
-Encouraging a holistic approach to care whilst maintaining the dignity, privacy and individuality of service users,
-Reporting any faulty and defective equipment to a senior member of staff,
-Acting in accordance with service users care plans,
-Reporting all suspected and actual incidents in according with the Organisation’s -Whistle Blowing policy,
-Attending all mandatory training as per Organisational policy, and other training as requested,
-Other duties as required at the direction of the Registered Manager.
Once the apprentice has completed a minimum of 12 months training, this will include the completion of functional skills in Maths and English. They will be put through to end point assessment.
The end point assessment is independent from the training and includes a variety of assessment methods which test the skills and knowledge of the apprentice to ensure they are fully competent in their role.

There is a possibility of a permanent position on successful completion of the apprenticeship.
Must be able to speak good English and have effective communication methods, Enjoy assisting and caring for people, Enthusiastic and enjoy being a member of a team.
You need to be a confident, caring person who has a genuine interest in caring for others. You will need to be patient, open minded and a good communicator.
No specific qualifications are required, as full training is to be provided. Experience working with mental health is essential.
The earliest required start will be 7am and the latest required finish will be 9pm. Please be aware this position will require a DBS check. -Public transport is limiter but the number 1 bus is close
