To run the day to day social media activity, executing the central strategy and supporting the implementation of it in the nations, regions and branches.

To support content marketing efforts of the IoD by publishing content assets to IoD digital platforms, as required, and to support with administrative tasks of this function.

Key objectives/ responsibilities:
To increase the IoD’s social media reach by growing key social media networks
Execute the central social media strategy, ensuring necessary content is posted across agreed channels for all product areas; including, but not limited to, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram
Work with the marketing team and wider business to plan and schedule the social media calendar, obtain necessary content and prepare for posting – single point of contact for assets and content that need promoting via social media
To integrate social media into all digital opportunities
Create and manage a social media dashboard providing insight and commentary.
To encourage and support the regions in the use of social media where necessary providing advice and guidance as appropriate
To engage with members and encourage them to engage with each other through the development of IoD networks and communities
Act as community manager for the IoD social channels, monitoring member-to-member discussions and feedback for the IoD. Engage as appropriate or escalate to management where needed
To provide general social media support across the organisation and to become the organisation’s social media expert
To monitor, collate, report and provide insight on key social media metrics
To ensure all content produced by the content marketing team is published on IoD.com, YouTube, or appropriate channel. Ensure assets are available through the agreed channels and accessible through the agreed user journeys, in-line with the creative framework and guidelines
Assist in the reporting of content engagement and performance
Process invoices for content and social media activity
Assist with production of photography and video content where necessary

Beneficial Relevant qualification in marketing and/or journalism
English and Maths GCSE grade B or higher
Knowledge/Skills and Experience:
This role requires a good understanding of different social media channels and how they best operate, as well as practical experience using them
Strong attention to detail
Experience in a customer facing role and advantage
The ability to create engaging social media copy to engage and inform audiences
Confidence in proofing and sub-editing social media posts and blog copy
Basic HTML knowledge and SEO awareness
Basic knowledge of photo and video editing software preferable
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
Ability to communicate well with key members of the team and wider staff
The hands-on approach and eagerness to get stuck in
Happy to innovate with good ideas, using a test and learn process to feedback to the team
Analytical mindset with an ability to analyse and report on multiple metrics
