Higher Level Apprenticeship
They have an exciting opportunity to work in video games and make a real impact on their games development and their performance on the market. Large vaults of data from the millions of players who play their games.
Learn how to analyse that data to:
Understand what players are doing in the game
Spot parts of the game that have problems and can be improved
Suggest new ideas to add into the game and then measure if those ideas make the game better or worse
Predict what players will get the furthest into the game and spend the most money
If you are interested in Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram, YouTube and Social Media in general, then you will also get to learn how to analyse that data so that you can help them know:
What types of videos and ads encourage people the most to play their games
Where and who should they show their adverts to
They love games and you will have the opportunity to play new games before they come out. They do a weekly team discovery to look for new games!
Requirements and prospects
Exceptional communication skills in English
Good numeracy and problem-solving ability is a must
Passionate about video games, any genre and platform welcome
Ability to operate as an effective individual contributor as well as a collaborative team member
Flexible self-starter with very strong work ethic and commitment to exceptional results
5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)
The role offers long term security and the opportunity to progress into a permanent position
Things to consider
The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.70 per hour as of 1st of April 2018. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.90 an hour for 18-20 year olds; £7.38 for anyone aged 21 to 24 and £7.83 for those over 25

PlayStack is comprised of a team of 25 in their London office with seven more working on their bespoke technologies in Krakow, Poland. Since founding the company in 2016 they have published one VR and two mobile titles with 10 more games due this year and many more in the pipeline spanning every platform and genre. They want PlayStack to be a disruptive force in the industry and are looking for new members of their high performing team.
The Estio Training programme gives young people the opportunity to get hands on experience in the IT industry whilst still employed in a real paid job with no cost or debt.
Learners will receive six weeks of intensive training. Whilst in the workplace, apprentices will also receive continual coaching, help and guidance from a dedicated Skills Development Coach who will be there to ensure that they get the most from their work experience.
This apprenticeship will give you a Level 4 Data Analyst Standard with training in areas such as:
Functional skills, Maths L2 and English L2
Data Analysis Tools
Data Analysis Concepts
Data Analytics Software
Developing Software using SQL
Some of these modules will include an option to take an examination in order to receive a professional certificate.
