The company are expanding their IT team to provide the continuous improvement to the high level of support to their staff and clients.
The Trainee Service Desk Operative is responsible to the Head of IT & Service Desk Operative(s) for the day to day support of end user devices/OS such as PC’s/Tablets/Laptops, Printers/MFD’s, Telephony & basic case management software development. They will assist in the first line support of the organisations service desk processes, working towards a qualified service desk operative position.
Some of your duties and responsibilities in this role will include:
Providing a Helpdesk service to all end-users by responding to issues over the telephone or at the end-users desk and maintaining a call log of helpdesk requests.
Installing, configuring and maintaining the IT infrastructure including hardware, operating system, network connectivity, printing etc.
Carrying out PC maintenance, repair and diagnostic activities including ordering of equipment and consumables as required, liaising with preferred supplier for purchase of laptop and desk top PCs.
Requirements and prospects
Passionate about IT.
Fully competent on installing and configuring Windows OS.
Fully complement on installing and configuring MS Office.
Prepared to develop new skills and to be mentored and coached.
Well receptive to training & examinations.
Great problem solving skills and can think outside the box.
Excellent communication skills and telephone manner.
Some relevant qualifications eg A-Level IT, BTEC IT, MS certifications, COMPTIA etc.
Committed to learning new skills.
5 GCSEs at grades A*- C or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)

Some of these modules will include an option to take an examination in order to receive a professional certificate.
