They are involved in B2B product selling and servicing to organisations in the manufacturing, utilities and municipal sectors throughout the UK. As a subsidiary to the global family owned parent company based in the black forest in Germany, they are well established have been operating in the UK for almost 40 years. The company are based in Burgess Hill at present, but embarking on an exciting project of a new state of the art building to move into in the Autumn of 2020 in Maresfield, East Sussex.

The department will of course be strongly involved in this project, and any candidate considering this role will also need to factor in travel to the new office location in the latter part of 2020.

Main role:

You will get some experience in virtually all marketing disciplines, from event and exhibition coordination, through to coordinating and planning advertising campaigns, mailers and some basic design and creative work. As well as handling the quotation and coordination of our training courses with technical and service, some customer seminars as well as working on our database/CRM system. You should have a good knowledge of using digital platforms for e-mailings, social feeds and posting on the company website.

Detailed responsibilities and duties:

  • Advertising, liaising with magazines to book space and supply relevant copy/materials to them
  • Design of brochures, promotional materials, layouts and distribution of information, working with pictures and graphics from head office, ad hoc promotional materials, small posters and graphics
  • Exhibition and event bookings: coordination of attendees, venue planning and logistics, information distribution, marketing materials and equipment needed
  • Updating news, blogs, information and events on company website and web site entries on directory/membership sites
  • Editing and sending E-mailers to customers and internally to the company
  • Monitoring info@ inbox and forwarding leads to Sales/Germany
  • Customer expertise training and PACTware seminars: sending out proposals and following up
  • Training materials, organising diaries and logistics. Getting trainers and course feedback
  • Monitoring and recording of quality feedback and advising managers where necessary
  • Managing orders, invoices, budgets and suppliers
  • Overseeing the literature system making sure stocks of brochures are up to date.
  • Preparing information and reports and distribution
  • Research on customers or markets as needed, using internet resources
  • Selection, evaluation, ordering and distribution of promotional gifts

Shared/Oversight of marketing administration activities within the Dept.: 

  • Working on small mailings and specific promotional campaigns
  • Contacting customers and sales engineers to make arrangements
  • Overseeing the literature system making sure stocks of brochures are up to date.
  • Final proofreading text and documents as needed
  • Sending out customer surveys (proactive random selection)
  • Managing and monitoring the customer database, and as required, liaising with admin and sales departments with updates or alterations
  • Training: printing data and collating supporting material as required by technical manager
  • Ensuring customers, colleagues and managers are advised of relevant information from marketing
  • Liaising with head office counterparts in Marketing and I.T. departments as needed
  • Assisting colleagues in fulfilling their local marketing activities and events
  • General, ad hoc activities in the marketing department to assist the company and colleagues
