An apprentice Motor Mechanic is required for this busy garage in Portsmouth. Fratton Bridge are experienced in supporting apprentices so you will learn by working alongside qualified technicians as well as being supported by a Personal Tutor.

Intermediate Level Apprenticeship
An apprentice motor mechanic is required for this busy garage.
You will learn all aspects of servicing light vehicles, helping with MOTs, working alongside a experienced technician you will:
Work on brakes, clutches
All aspects of safety in the garage
You will be required to attend college one day per week.
Requirements and prospects
You must be keen and focused on a career in the automotive industry
Be good with hand tools and like practical work
Have good communication skills
Have good organisational skills
Be a good timekeeper
Learn quickly and be enthusiastic
Be a good team member
Be able to travel to work and college
You should ideally have 5 GCSEs at grade A to C or equivalent including maths, English and ICT, however support will be given if required.
Progression to a level 3 may be available for the right candidate.
Things to consider
The Current National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.70 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The minimum wage rates are £4.20 for under 18’s, £5.90 an hour for 18-20 year olds, £7.38 for anyone aged 21 to 24 and £7.83 for 25 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
