Here at Waverton House Day Nursery we aim to provide a caring and safe environment for our children. We are currently looking to recruit an apprentice to join our busy team. If you are passionate about starting a career in childcare then this is the opportunity for you!
Monday to Friday (shifts to be confirmed by the employer)
Total hours per week: 39.00

Intermediate Level Apprenticeship
The main duty within this role is to promote the physical, social and emotional development of each child within your remit and contribute towards their care and supervision.
Meeting and greeting parents and children at the nursery
Completing paperwork as and when required
General housekeeping of the nursery
Handover to parents and colleagues
Adhere to health and safety procedures at all times
Adhere to safeguarding procedures at all times
Assist in activities with the children
Arrange room environment to suit needs of activity
Requirements and prospects
Good communication and interpersonal skills
To be understanding and able to give encouragement
Customer service skills
Some basic knowledge of safeguarding
Some basic knowledge of health and safety
Smart and professional
Willing to learn
3 – 9 grade GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths would be a distinct advantage.
Upon completion of the Intermediate Children and Young People’s Workforce apprenticeship programme, you may be offered the opportunity to progress within the company.
Things to consider
The successful candidate will be required to complete a full DBS check.
About the employer
Waverton House Day Nursery is for children aged 0 – 5 years old, with opening times from 8.00.am – 6.00pm (52 weeks) We also provide an early start time from 7.30am (additional fees apply – please enquire).
Set in its own grounds with a private car park, it is ideally located on Church Road, Wavertree next to the Blue Coat School.
The building has been beautifully restored and now offers an excellent service to the local community.
Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. Waverton House Day Nursery will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to upskill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.
If successful, you will complete an Intermediate Children and Young Peoples apprenticeship programme delivered through Waverton House Day Nursery’s dedicated training provider, Interserve Learning and Employment.
