Intermediate Level Apprenticeship
The main duty within this role is to promote the physical, social and emotional development of each child within your remit and contribute towards their care and supervision.
Helping staff with a wide range of activities.
Assisting in play and stimulating games to play with children
Recording all accidents accurately
Maintaining daily and open communication with parents
Any cleaning duties that may be required.
Complete all forms and documents as and when required.
Adhere to security and safeguarding procedures at all times.
Arranging room environment to suit the needs of each activity.
Meeting and greeting parents and children at the nursery.
Assisting at snack and mealtimes.
Communicate with parents/families to help to encourage the child.
Requirements and prospects
Basic knowledge of health and safety
Basic knowledge of safeguarding.
Good telephone manner.
Customer service skills.
Team working skills
Great timekeeping skills.
Willing to learn
Keen to succeed within the sector
Diplomatic approach to work
Ability to build relataionships with children, parents and colleagues.
Smart and proffessional.
4 – 9 GCSE Grades in Maths and English or equivalent.
Upon completion of the Children and Young People’s Workforce apprenticeship programme, you may be offered the opportunity to progress onto an Early Years Educator apprenticeship programme with Interserve Learning and Employment.

The successful candidate will be required to complete a full DBS Check.
About the employer
Little Hearts Day Nursery was registered in 2014. The nursery employs nine members of childcare staff. Of these, eight hold appropriate early years qualifications at level 3 and above. The nursery is open Monday to Friday for 51 weeks of the year. They close for one week in December. Sessions are from 8am until 6pm. The nursery provides funded early education for two, three and four-year-old children. The nursery also supports children who have any special educational needs or disability.

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. Little Hearts Day Nursery will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.
If successful, you will complete an Children and Young People’s Workforce apprenticeship programme delivered through Little Hearts Day Nursery’s dedicated training provider, Interserve Learning & Employment.
