The main duty within this role is to promote the physical, social and emotional development of each child within your remit and contribute towards their care and supervision.

Roles and responsibilities include:

General housekeeping duties as and when required.
Providing a safe and nurturing environment.
Keeping all notice boards up to date.
Plan and set up activities within the nursery setting.
Complete daily handovers with colleagues and parents.
Adhere to all health and safety procedures.
Adhere to all safeguarding procedures.

Little Foxes Wigan has been awarded with the healthy business award, breast feeding friendly award and has received 5-star rating from environmental health (highest possible grading).

Our setting operates between the hours of 7:30am-6pm Monday to Friday and is situated on a main road, on a bus route that goes straight into the town. We operate from a renovated detached house with a new build on the rear included in this space is a large outdoor area which we use to enhance children’s learning in our natural environment, this space includes opportunities to den make, children to risk take with large apparatus and also space to relax, a water feature to explore different ways water can travel and enjoy the natural world. Younger babies have got their own section of the main garden to enable them to crawl out onto the decked area and into a sand pit. Older babies have also got a separate outdoor area located at the front of the building, this area has a crawl in sand pit, a pirate ship made out of wood, astro turfed area for swings and slides. A CCTV system has been put in place and all rooms will be in vision to the manager to oversee the quality of care and education provided for children.

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. Little Foxes Nursery will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.
If successful, you will complete an Intermediate Children and Young People’s apprenticeship programme delivered through Little Foxes Nursery’s dedicated training provider, Interserve Learning & Employment.
