No experience is required as you will receive full training but a willingness to learn and progress within a Nursery setting and a love of working and engaging with children is essential as you will be working with children aged 3 months to 5 years old.
You will complete the following qualification:
Certificate for the Children and Young Peoples workforce (QCF) Level 2 (12 months)
Purpose of the Role:
• Develop and extend childcare knowledge through day-to-day activities, responsibilities and good practice.
• To support all staff in the nursery, build relationships with children and promote a high standard of childcare at all times.
• In case of emergencies, instructions must always be taken from the Head of Room.
Duties:
• Under guidance of the Head of Room to provide a variety of activities for children of all ages, in conjunction with the planning guidelines.
• To assist in the planning, children’s profiles, keyworker system, when requested
• To be familiar with all nursery policies and procedures, the Early Years Foundation Stage and adhere to these at all times.
• To attend any training that is beneficial to your role within the company and your own personal development inside and outside working hours.
• To demonstrate a welcoming approach to parents, work placement students and visitors.
• To maintain a high standard of hygiene in relation to self, children, equipment and surroundings including participation in laundry and staff room Rota.
• To ensure that confidentiality is maintained and to be aware of the high profile of the nursery and to uphold its standards at all times.
• To complete the work allocated by your assessor in their own time and on time, within any targets set. In work bases, you may ask for time to be given in order to complete any work you cannot finish in your own time.

Working Monday to Thursday you will work a shift pattern of 38 hours per week covering 8.00am to 6.00pm (hour for lunch) and you will be paid the current National Minimum wage for Apprentices which is £3.50 per hour.
For the successful candidate there is ongoing employment and progression within the company once the relevant qualification has been completed.
