The main duty within this role is to promote the physical, social and emotional development of each child within your remit and contribute towards their care on a daily basis.
Monday to Friday 7am – 6pm; shifts TBC.

Intermediate Level Apprenticeship
Your main duty will be to provide supervised care of all children within your remit. You will also be responsible for:
Helping staff with both a long and short range of activities
Assisting in play and stimulating games to play with children
Recording all accidents accurately
Maintaining daily and open communication with parents
Completing forms and documents
Adhering to security practices and safeguarding policies and procedures
Arranging room layouts to suit needs of activity
Ahering to health and safety guidelines at all times within the nursery
Equipment being kept clean and tidy at all times
Following closing down procedures
Notice boards being kept up to date
Handing over to other staff members at the end of your shift
Requirements and prospects

Willing to go above and beyond
A* – C GCSE’s in Maths and English or equivalent would be advantageous.
The successful candidate may be given the opportunity to progress on to an Early Years Educator apprenticeship, upon completion of Children and Young Peoples Workforce apprenticeship programme with Interserve Learning and Employment.
Things to consider
All candidates must undertake a DBS check prior to employment. The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour (£3.70 an hour on April 1st, 2018). This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds, £7.05 for anyone aged 21 to 24 and £7.50 for those over 25. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by yopur employer. Honey Pots Day Nursery will provide you with alll of the on-the-job training you need to upskill within your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated within your working week.
You will complete a Level 2 Children and Young People’s Workforce apprenticeship programme through Honey Pots Day Nursery’s dedicated training provider, Interserve Learning and Employment
