You will need to be confident within yourself and take control and ownership of your duties. This is an excellent role if you are looking to launch your career within the world of recruitment, and there is the chance of progression for the right person. Presentation, communication and professionalism are key for this role.
Some of your duties could include:
Resourcing for vacancies on various job portals, working with consultants on recruitment briefs
Maintaining internal databases with all information
Entering candidates onto internal databases
Writing interview confirmation emails
Booking in candidates for registration each day and sending registration emails
Ensuring feedback is recorded on databases and passed to lead consultant to follow up with clients
Daily inbox and fax management
Ensuring that database diary entries are completed on a daily basis
Filing invoices, contracts and general candidate compliance
Invoicing clients for placements made
Ensuring the system is updated with candidates’ availability
Assigning vacancies to clients on internal databases
Writing up and advertising job descriptions
Chasing urgent references for temporary workers
There is much more besides this, though – you may sometimes take on colleagues work too.
Requirements and prospects
You will need to be confident on the computer with excellent communication skills and know when to seek clarity if something is unclear. You should have good attention to detail and be highly organised. It is desirable if you have a working knowledge of MS Office products. Some of the other qualities you will need are:
Numerical and verbal reasoning skills
Capable of building and maintaining relationships: internal and external
Ability to operate to clear processes
Clear, professional telephone skills
You should be have an excellent telephone manner, be well-presented, confident, self-motivated and have a pro-active, can do, attitude.
GCSE English and maths at grade C plus or equivalent is preferred but not essential.
Once you have successfully completed your Apprenticeship, you may be given the opportunity to continue in your role or progress onto an alternative support role within the company where you will receive full training and support.
