Job description:

They are looking for an apprentice software developer to work on their publishing platform; someone with a passion for technology and some prior experience of programming at a hobbyist level.

You will be working alongside an experienced software development team in an Agile environment, learning to build web applications using the latest technology and industry standards.If you join, you will gain a huge head-start in a software development career, building complex systems which are used by millions of consumers every month.

Responsibilities and duties consist of:

Attending the training organised by Estio and complete all associated coursework and examinations
Continually improve your software development skills
Following coding and documentation standards
Working to understand the wider organisation and how their work contributes to their success
With support, deliver small software projects in line with departmental standards
Contributing earnestly to retrospective and improvement meetings
Maintaining a high level of quality in all deliverables

Training provider
The Estio Training programme gives young people the opportunity to get hands on experience in the IT industry whilst still employed in a real paid job with no cost or debt.

Learners will receive six weeks of intensive training. Whilst in the workplace, apprentices will also receive continual assessment, and help and guidance from a dedicated trainer who will be there to ensure that they get the most from their work experience.

This apprenticeships will give you a Level 3 Software Development Technician Standard with training in areas such as:

Functional skills, Maths L2 and English L2
Software Design Fundamentals
User Interface Design
System Development
Software Development Context & Methodologies
Database Software
Programming
Some of these modules will include an option to take an examination in order to receive a professional certificate.
