We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to deliver an effective and efficient customer focused service to all SCC clients, meeting service level agreements (SLA) and customer expectations. You will be attending customer sites to replace complete machines or associated equipment, therefore a driver is required.

Are you the right person for us?

SCC need a hard-working individual at our site in Bristol, covering the Taunton area. You must be willing to listen and learn, be flexible and we will mentor and support the right individual throughout the apprenticeship.

Main Duties of the Job:

Ensure all training is completed relevant to apprenticeship requirements
To replace PC’s, laptops, printers and associated peripherals
Assist other engineers in the delivery of service to our customers
Communicate with call administration and the branch throughout the day to effectively manage all call details real time and gain full understanding of the customer’s requirements
Complete part movements (RMA generation & physical movement) in a timely manner, returning items as directed by the Branch
Achieve KPI target of 5 visits/fix’s per day
Following the company policies and procedures as detailed in the engineering manual and corporate directory
Be professional and presentable at all times
Be able to embrace new technologies and adapt to change
To undertake Health & Safety activities commensurate with post and/or SCC Group Health & Safety policy

Future prospects
Most of SCC’s apprentices progress to level 4 IT and permanent roles on successful completion of the level 3 apprenticeship.

Things to consider
The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.70 per hour as of 1st of April 2018. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.90 an hour for 18-20 year olds; £7.38 for anyone aged 21 to 24 and £7.83 for those over 25.

Training provider
Throughout the duration of your apprenticeship you will be required to attend your academy for up to 12 weeks on a block release basis for structured training. The remainder of your training will be completed in the workplace with your Employer. You will work towards a level 3 advanced apprenticeship for IT, Software, Web and Telecoms Professionals.

The qualification will consist of:

Edexcel advanced apprenticeship in IT, Software, Web and Telecoms
Level 3 Diploma in ICT Professional Competence
Level 3 Extended Diploma in ICT Systems and Principles
Level 2 Functional Skills English, Maths, ICT (if applicable)
Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)
Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS)
On completion of your apprenticeship, you will be awarded a City and Guilds level 3 Diploma in Professional Competence for IT and Telecoms Professionals and a level 3 Extended Diploma in ICT (Systems & Principles).
