They come to us for all kinds of advice and support. They know they can rely on us, because we take care to really get to know what they do and what they want to achieve. We work closely with each other, too. For you, this means great opportunities to develop specialist skills alongside brilliant people. It’s easy to be inspired at BDO. OUR PROGRAMMES On our four-year School Leaver Programme, you’ll learn a huge amount from real experience. We’ll also give you paid time off to study for respected professional qualifications. With proper responsibilities from day one, you’ll be gaining valuable commercial experience that you might not get at university. Along the way, you’ll enjoy excellent support including coaching and mentoring. Alternatively, our Summer School offers you an excellent two-week insight into our firm in the summer before Year 13, and potentially a place with us when you leave school. We offer School Leaver programmes in four important areas: Advisory Advisory services at BDO help clients to tackle all the challenges they face as their businesses grow. We have the expertise to help with all kinds of complex events - from buying a new business and accessing finance for growth, to making changes at times of financial difficulty, fighting fraud, and much more. Our advisers come from all kinds of backgrounds. Together we can solve even the most complicated challenge. Here, you can become a specialist in giving particular kinds of advice. Audit Audit is about making sure the things our clients say about their finances are true, fair and accurate. We work closely with them and really get to know their business. With what we learn, we can help them to improve their financial statements, the systems they use and the way they work. As an Auditor at BDO, you’ll work with all kinds of organisations. There are lots of different areas you could specialise in, from real estate to technology and media, not-for-profit, and many more. Business Services and Outsourcing When a client tackles the challenges of growth or change, they might need the next level of support. That could mean bringing us in for a special project, or getting us to provide the services of a whole department for them, instead of creating their own. We’re ready to answer any call. Taking our accounting and business expertise out on client site, you’ll develop a wide range of skills, work with all kinds of different clients, and explore new ways to improve what we can do. Tax Tax law is very complicated and always changing. We help our clients to understand how to do the right thing. We advise them on all kinds of questions, including how to produce their accounts, how to pay the right taxes overseas, or how to approach buying another company. This variety means that you can specialise in an area that interests you - from understanding complex technical details, to helping super-smart people, or solving problems in new and unique ways. THE REWARDS As well as the competitive salary and benefits package they receive, trainees say they love what a friendly and welcoming place BDO is to work. As one of a large group of trainees around the country, you’ll get the chance to meet young people like yourself and take part in activities and events together. Colleagues in your team could also become great friends. We organise sporting and social events and give you up to 10 days a year to do voluntary or charitable work. If you ever need support or advice, your counselling manager or buddy can help. In certain offices, we’ll even pay for your breakfast if you get to the office before 8:30am! WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR We’ll expect you to have or be predicted 3 A Levels in any subject (excluding General Studies and Extended Projects) at grades A* - C. You should also have GCSEs in Maths and English Language, also at grades A* - C. Equivalent international qualifications are welcome. We know that your qualifications and work experience don’t tell us the full story. So we’re keen to find out what you care about and love to do in life. After all, BDO is a place where you should feel free to be yourself. We always look for people who are supportive, responsible, honest and happy working as part of a team.View Employer Profile
