Vacancy description

We are looking for a person interested in a career within the Pharmaceutical sector. The successful Apprentice will have an opportunity to learn a variety of tasks.

As we need some help in the office, the daily tasks will include:

• Working closely with the Director and responsible person of the company

• Carrying out administrative duties, such as filing, invoicing, raising purchase orders

• Checking up on regulations within the field of Pharmaceuticals

•After being trained, checking off pharmaceuticals and vitamins to see if suitable to supply into the UK and foreign markets. This includes noting down batch numbers and expiry, as well as assessing if stock is counterfeit or legitimate Using a specialised software system to book in stock and carry out all related processes during a sale

• Making sales to other Pharmaceutical Wholesalers and customers

• Once experienced enough, making a sale from beginning to end, including all processes

• Other duties include marketing, arranging stock, picking and packing medicine

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

• Good knowledge of Mircrosoft Office, in particular Excel

• Good communication skills

• Ideally experience of providing excellent customer service

• Enthusiasm to improve business processes and how the team works

• Commitment to support colleagues and stakeholders

Desired qualifications

CSEs (or equivalent) in English and maths at minimum grades 4/C above.

Future prospects

Post completion of your Apprenticeship could lead to an advanced level Apprenticeship and possibly a permanent role with our client, who is committed to long term prospects for the right person.

Things to consider

The employer will pay between £5 and £5.50 per hour, depending on interview.

The National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.70 an hour from the 1st of April 2018. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.90 an hour for 18-20 year olds, £7.38 for anyone aged 21 to 24, and £7.83 for those over 25.

Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per month) at a JGA TRAINING CENTRE.

Off the job training – Your training provider will provide you with the underpinning knowledge which you will be able to use and apply within the workplace.

On the job training – You will cross train within each department of the business and your mentor will help you to understand all aspects of working within a busy, successful business.

End Point Assessment – You will work with your Assessor and Manager to ensure you have received enough support to complete your assessment nearing the end of your Apprenticeship.

You will work towards achieving a Level 3 qualification in Business Administration.
