Intermediate Level Apprenticeship
Ensure children are within a safe and caring environment, provide and support stimulating activates to enhance children’s learning
Interact positively with children, parents/carers, visitors, other educational professionals and other staff members
Make a positive contribution towards new ideas for activities and displays
Carry out domestic duties to ensure the smooth running of the nursery
To attend training and complete assignments/work set
To attend team meetings and input ideas
Under supervision to provide all aspects of care for children including washing, changing and feeding, outdoor play and creative activities
To assist with meeting personal and emotional needs of individual children
To provide adult interaction with children in the nursery
To be aware of the nursery’s confidentiality policy
Support all staff and engage in good team work
To attend out of working hours activities e.g. training, monthly staff meetings, parents evenings, sports day etc.
Requirements and prospects
Good communication skills.
Need to be enthusiastic and have a passion working with children.
GCSE’s passes or equivalent are preferred but not essential as Functional Skills in mathematics and English will be completed.
Full-time qualified position in the Nusery.
Things to consider
The Current National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.70 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The minimum wage rates are £4.20 for under 18’s, £5.90 an hour for 18-20 year olds, £7.38 for anyone aged 21 to 24 and £7.83 for 25 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
