Intermediate Level Apprenticeship
The main duty within this role is to promote the physical, social and emotional development of each child within your remit and contribute towards their care and supervision.
Duties may include:
Provide opportunities for children to develop individually following Early Years
Take part in play activities with the children
Contribute to positive relationships with children
Promote positive behaviour and confidence
Maintain child safety
Take part in outdoor activities
Help to maintain a healthy balanced diet for the children
Requirements and prospects
Strong communication skills – the ability to converse with young children, parents and colleagues alike
Team working skills
Some experience of childcare would be an advantage
Caring and compassionate attitude a must
A genuine desire to work with children
A-C grades in Maths and English GCSE or equivalent qualifications would be highly advantageous.
Previous experience working with children would also be advantageous
Upon completion of your Apprenticeship, there is the possibility of progressing to a Level 3 Apprenticeship and becoming a qualified Nursery Practitioner

The Current National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.50 per hour. From 1st April 2018 this rises to £3.70 per hour. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. After the 1st April the minimum wage rates are £5.90 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.38 for anyone aged 21 to 24 years old and £7.83 for 25 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Your full role and responsibilities will be set out by your employer. Children 4 Most will provide you with all of the on-the-job training you need to up-skill in your role, and your 20% off-the-job learning will be incorporated as part of your working day.
If successful, you will complete a Children & Young People’s Workforce apprenticeship programme delivered through Children 4 Most’s dedicated training provider, Interserve Learning & Employment.
