As an apprentice you will be mentored by the experienced members of the team to help you to complete the following daily duties:

To ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for the children
Ensure that children are engaged and learning at all times
To have knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and how to implement it for the children
Work with parents, other staff and outside agencies.
To be imaginative, creative and be a play partner for the children.
Understanding the needs of all the children, to offer appropriate level of support when needed.
To ensure the safety and well being of all the children.
The working hours are Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.

To be employed full time, receive further training & progress to Room Leader and to have specific roles within the nursery.

Things to consider
The Current National Minimum Wage (ANMW) rate for apprentices is £3.70 per hour. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. After the 1st April 2018 the minimum wage rates are £5.90 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.38 for anyone aged 21 to 24 years old and £7.83 for 25 and over.

Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

 

About the employer
Manor Hill is situated in Solihull and has been open since 2012. We have four rooms, babies, teenies, toddlers and pre-school, we offer a wide range of activities for the children including, Zumbini, French and Swimming Lessons. We are a very friendly team of staff and wish to expand. It is a bright and open nursery with plenty of space for the children to play in.

All training will be delivered in the work place with no requirement for day release to college. You will be mentored by experienced members of staff while developing your skills to a nationally recognised industry standard.
