Intermediate Level Apprenticeship
Scanning, photocopying, laminating, faxing, filing and processing documents
Provide a reception service to our patients and visitors
Provide a telephonist service to book appointments, provide information, answer queries and pass on messages
Confidentially maintain computer and paper records of Practice activity and patient information
Maintain pleasant, clean and welcoming office and reception areas
Handle incoming money, prescriptions and other highly confidential and important items
Assist with stationery & stock check
Requirements and prospects
Good verbal and written communication skills
Ability to use initiative, think logically and prioritise according to urgency
Attention to detail whilst being able to multi-task
Knowledge of the GP surgeries and/or the NHS desirable
Pleasant, professional and welcoming manner
Enthusiastic team player
GCSE’s passes are preferred but not essential as Functional Skills in maths and English will be completed.
Level 3 apprenticeship and potential permanent employment for the right candidate.
Things to consider
The Current National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.70 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The minimum wage rates are £4.20 for under 18’s, £5.90 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.38 for anyone aged 21 to 24 years old and £7.83 for 25 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
