You will need to have a natural creative ability with fantastic attention to detail and be looking to start a career in marketing. You will be assisted in your apprenticeship by industry professionals who will provide creative support and you will be encouraged to become a valuable member of the existing team. As the Digital Marketing assistant, you will be working closely with the Sales & Marketing Manager to fulfil various marketing duties.


Assist with social media campaigns
Writing online content for SEO descriptions, company blog and onsite content
Conduct keyword research and web statistics reporting using Google Analytics and other tools
Writing accurate and effective product descriptions
Making adjustments and edits using Canva, Photoshop, InDesign & Lightroom
Uploading finished images to the website and marketplaces
Assisting in product uploads to the website and marketplaces
Basic design work for email campaigns
Research new online media opportunities that may benefit the business including mobile, social media, development of blogs and forums
Promote courses and events on websites, social media and other digital platforms
Keep up to date with current digital trends
Requirements and prospects
Desired skills
Knowledge and understanding of Photoshop, InDesign or similar
Good communication skills – ​Great spelling and grammar is a must, as you will have the responsibility of producing content for the website
Competent with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Willingness to learn a wide range of skills across the business
Experience with web Content Management Systems like WordPress
Basic understanding of SEO and Link Building

The ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
Excellent written communication skills with an attention to detail and accuracy
A personal portfolio for submission would be a benefit but not essential
Desired qualifications
A minimum of 5 GCSE’s C and above Including maths, English and ICT (or equivalents)

The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.70 per hour as of 1st of April 2018. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.90 an hour for 18-20 year olds; £7.38 for anyone aged 21 to 24 and £7.83 for those over 25.

Combined with knowledge and skills gained in the workplace, the Digital Marketer apprenticeship programme will provide an understanding into the fundamentals of marketing, digital business principles and the principles of coding. Training will be provided via outstanding classroom training, dedicated workplace mentorship and on-the job experience.

The apprenticeship will include:

BCS L3 Digital Marketer Diploma standard
Functional Skills (maths, English and ICT) as required
Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)
Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS)
Google Analytics Individual Qualification.
You will also be able to join the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) as an affiliate member and join the British Computing Society (BCS) as an associate member
Training and Assessment:

Throughout the apprenticeship, you will be required to attend your local academy for training sessions
You will attend a four-day synoptic assessment at the end of your course
Your dedicated mentor will visit you in the workplace approximately every 6-8 weeks
Online support for modules will be provided for you to complete outside of work
The remainder of your training will be completed in the workplace.
