As a Level 2/3 Apprentice (Will consider apprentices wishing to do either a L2 or a L3), you will be expected to support and assist other members of the team in the completion of their duties. Your day to day duties will include, but are not limited to:

Playing with the children
Offering activity ideas
Washing and clearing up after the children
Being part of a team
Reading stories
Singing songs
Writing observations
Learning how to foster good relationships with other staff
Children and parents
Taking part in parent’s evenings.
It will be a one to one interview, there is an application form we (the nursery) will need completed before the interview, and if the interview is successful, there will be a day trial before any apprenticeship offer.

Initially apprentice wage, after a six week induction and three month probation this will be assessed and most likely increased to approx £4.50/£5 per hour

Working hours will depend on room and capability- Shifts Monday to Friday – most likely 8am-5pm, but could be 7.30am-4.30pm or 8.30am-5.30pm or 9am-6pm or Four days a week 7.15am-6.15pm

There are no qualifications required as full training is given throughout the apprenticeship.

Things to consider
The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.05 for anyone aged 21 and over.
