Engineering Academic Internship

The role:

Wanting to further develop your skills? The Environment Agency has exciting opportunities for you to do just that!

Our Academic Internships run for 6 – 12 weeks starting in June / July 2020. Giving you the opportunity to gain valuable experience whilst complementing your studies and personal and professional growth.


During your Engineering placement with us, you will gain experience in areas such as:

·      Asset management life cycle and operation (ISO 55000 accreditation)

·      Project management

·      Construction Design Maintenance (CDM)

·      Partnership working

·      Incident management


You will see direct impacts of the work we do in the environment, support us to change ways of working to do more natural flood management and habitat creation alongside schemes and to educate the communities we serve.

The team:
The Environment Agency operates across England divided into 14 areas and National teams.

We have opportunities across the country in both local and national teams.

You will work with and learn from experienced members of your appointed team who will coach and mentor you throughout your placement to support you to reach your potential.


Experience/skills required:

We are looking for applicants who are studying or recently studied an engineering and analytical related degree.

You can be at any stage of your degree course but will not have graduated before summer 2018.
