TASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Managing Activities in the Department

• Able to perform the opening and closedown procedures of the health/leisure club,
• Greet guests upon arrival and ensures that they are checked-in and aware of the facilities available,
• Provides efficient and courteous service to all guests and health/leisure club members,
• Able to demonstrate how to use all exercise equipment in an appropriate manner,
• Able to provide show rounds and a general tour of facility to potential members and hotel guests,
• Ensures guests satisfaction by maintaining a clean and safe facility,
• Monitors members activities within the club ensuring that facilities are used in accordance with leisure club rules and guidance,
• Carries out regular inspections of equipment and facilities in accordance with departmental requirements,
• Where applicable carries out daily tasks in pool plant to keep pool and spa pool safe and well maintained at all times,
• Checks sauna & changing rooms hourly to ensure in good condition,
• Co-ordinates with housekeeping for cleaning services and towel collections,
• Reports any necessary repairs to engineering,
• Assists with membership sales, and uses upselling techniques at all times,
• Takes responsibility for inspection of changing rooms, by maintaining cleanliness, during working hours of the day,
• Pro-active within the gym when reception cover is available, actively looks for ways to help improve all visitors exercise regime,
• Understands and operates by the departmental standard operating procedures in place,
• Upholds all parts of the company brand standards reflecting the company culture and values,
• A team player with a positive can do attitude,
• Communicates with internal and external guests in a professional, friendly and courteous manner.
• Maximises customer satisfaction by promoting hotel services and facilities to guests.
• Works pro-actively to minimise complaints from guests.
Ensure compliance with client specifications by working closely with the relevant departments.

• Follows all applicable laws, corporate standards, procedures and guidelines,

Health & Safety

• Support your line manager in ensuring that Health and Safety Policies are followed and incidents reported in line with the Health and Safety Policy guidelines,
• Ensures that all potential and real hazards are reported appropriately and immediately,
• Fully understands the Hotel’s Health & Safety, fire, emergency and crisis procedures,
• Follows emergency procedures to provide for the security and safety of guests and team members,
• Works in a safe manner that does not harm or injure self or others,
• Supports a safe Hotel by applying and adhering to existing laws and Hotel regulations,
• Anticipates possible and probable hazards and conditions and notifies your line manager,
• Maintains the highest standards of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, appearance, body language and conduct,
• Maintains high confidentiality in regards to guest privacy,

Miscellaneous

• Endeavours in position to maximise guest satisfaction,
• Responsible Business – involved and interested in environmental and/or social issues by participating in Responsible Business activities within Hotel and department,
• Attends meetings and trainings as required by your line manager,
• Assists colleagues to perform similar or related jobs when necessary,
• Accepts flexible work schedule necessary for uninterrupted service to Hotel guests,
• Maintains own and departmental working area and materials clean, tidy and in good working order; report defective materials and equipment to line manager,
• Continuously seeks to endeavour and improve knowledge of own job function,
• Operates according to the Hotel’s standards and departmental procedures,
• Maintains close working relationship with all relevant departments,
• Performs duties and responsibilities as assigned by your line manager,
• Is well updated on, and possesses solid knowledge on the following:
• Company, Hotel and departmental standards of operation and procedures
