Description of the job

Our UK Graduate Programme provides exceptional graduates the opportunity to master managerial and technical skills. Over the two year period it combines rotational placements with focused training and the possibility of European assignments as well as further personal development and the chance to build your professional network.

From day one, you will be assigned to a particular department and will be guided through the various placement opportunities that exist within your function, the wider business and even with customers and suppliers. This, along with training provided works to ensure you are ready and experienced enough to take the next step of your career following the programme’s conclusion.

¤ You will be working within the Project Management group providing project support for a variety of engineering projects.

¤ You will be working closely with experienced project managers and project controllers on Cryptographic engineering projects typically destined for Military of Defence customers.

¤ You will be assigned an Experience Project Manager who will mentor you in the practice of the Project Management discipline.


Main activities of the role may include;

¤ You will be assigned to small internal projects and support Project Managers on larger external projects in order to gain valuable experience on all aspects of project management.

¤ You will be involved in stakeholder management, risk management, project planning, monitoring and controlling of project work.

¤ You will learn how to manage project budgets and how to grow contracts though bid management and project change notes.

¤ You will be involved in planning, executing, monitoring & control and closing of projects.

This role will be based in Newport and will receive the full Airbus Defence & Space Graduate programme benefit package including an annual Salary of £27,000, plus a welcome payment of £2,000.
