Intermediate Level Apprenticeship
To complete a Level 2 Hairdressing Apprenticeship City & Guilds. Working as a salon assistant, supporting the stylist & the team at Muse.
Looking after clients, shampooing, keeping salon clean & tidy & completing the daily tasks
Attend training every Wednesday morning in the salon, working on models & the dolls head
Attend training on a Tuesday afternnon, when required with in house salon training with practical & knowledge sessions
Requirements and prospects
Excellent understanding of the need for high quality customer service.
Good social skills, out going & being able to use their own inattentive
Able to understand & ask questions
Presentable with an interest in hair, make up & fashion
GCSE’s or equivalent passes are preferred but not essential as Functional Skills in Maths and English will be completed.
To gain a career in hairdressing, to become a fully qualified stylist & progress to hair level 3.
Things to consider
The Current National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.50 per hour. From 1st April 2018 this rises to £3.70 per hour. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. After the 1st April the minimum wage rates are £5.90 an hour for 18-20 year olds and £7.38 for anyone aged 21 to 24 years old and £7.83 for 25 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).
