The IT Helpdesk Support role is the first point contact for staff to provide support and maintain Masternauts desktop, laptop and mobile computer systems across all their locations.

As a member of the IT Department, you will be working directly with employees across the business to provide technical and operational IT support as required to troubleshoot and determine the source of any issues and undertake appropriate action to resolve.

You will also work with the IT Systems Engineers and wider team, developing skills to work with the wider infrastructure, including servers (active directory, group policy etc.) mass storage and network services.

Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:

Provision of IT support and technical assistance to staff in person, over the phone or remotely Installing and configuring desktop, laptop and mobile technology
Diagnosing and resolving desktop hardware and software issues
Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support
Provision of support and guidance to Masternaut staff on IT related queries analysing calls to identify trends and recommend ways to approach the underlying issues
Requirements and prospects
Desired skills
Experience in installing and configuring computer hardware, software and network print devices
Excellent problem solving skills with the ability to methodically troubleshoot issues to resolve the problems
Experience providing deskside support to users, or via the telephone, email or remote access services in a busy network environment
Ability to handle constantly changing workload demands
Experience working with network server services including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, NPS and DFS etc would be beneficial
Personal qualities
Ability to work in a team environment, collaborate with your peers on bugs and update fixes into the Knowledge Base
Ability to work under pressure
Ability to manage workloads effectively
Ability to work within time constraints
Excellent customer service skills and a good telephone manner
Desired qualifications
5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and maths)

Training provider
The Estio Training programme gives young people the opportunity for practical experience in the IT industry whilst still employed in a real paid job with no cost or debt.

Learners will receive eight weeks of intensive training. Whilst in the workplace, apprentices will also receive continual coaching, help and guidance from a dedicated Skills Development Coach who will be there to ensure that they get the most from their work experience.

This apprenticeship will give you a Level 3 Infrastructure Technician Standard with training in areas such as:

Functional Skills level 2 (maths, English and ICT)
Personal Learning & Thinking Skills (PLTS)
Employment Responsibilities and Rights (ERR)
PC fundamentals
Business processes & customer services
Networking & Architecture
Mobile & Operating Systems
Cloud services
Coding & Logic
Some of these modules will include an option to take an examination in order to receive a professional certificate.
