Trading purely in Point of Sale software systems since 1991, Nisyst has a wealth of PoS software expertise developing and providing EPoS solutions and back office systems to multiple site operations throughout the UK.

Job overview:

We are looking for an individual who is enthusiastic about IT, to provide technical help and assistance on Electronic Point of Sale System to new and existing customers.

Main role:

  • Providing / committed to customer care
  • Talking to clients to get details of faults; working out the reasons for a fault, and the ability to explain the problems and solutions to non-technical users
  • Recording problems and their solutions for future reference
  • Providing technical help desk support for a variety of software packages, mainly EPoS, and hardware
  • Obtaining details from customer’s new requirements to pass onto software development via the Support Manager
  • Provide telephone help support to customers during out of hours, weekends and bank holiday on a rotation basis
  • Monitor and maintain Customer Support Call Log System as per protocol provided
  • Assist / build configure Pc’s / Tills
  • Flexible – Overnight stays and travel to site will be required where appropriate

  • Identify system improvements by evaluating system performance
  • Improve system by conferring with development team; testing, evaluating, and installing new software
  • Document actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records
  • Protect organisation’s value by keeping information confidential
  • General assistance as and when requested by Principal

  • Ability to prioritize, work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Happy to do manual labour, moving heavy boxes
  • Have patient and methodical approach
  • Ability to work alone or as part of a team
  • Experience of various Microsoft Desktop Operating systems and basic server operating system
  • Basic networking experience eg: Mapping network drives, sharing printers changing IP Addresses etc.
  • Experience of Router Configuration
  • Setting up new equipment and upgrading existing systems
  • Testing and servicing equipment
  • Produce and maintain I.T statistics, reports, checklists and other documentation as necessary
  • Flexible approach to work
  • Ability to present information
  • Full UK drivers licence is desired but not required

Desired skills:


  • Windows Operating Systems 7, 8, (Server 2008, 2012 – would be an advantage)
  • Microsoft Office products, including Work, Excel, Outlook
  • General knowledge of MS SQL would be an advantage
  • Call logging systems

Desired qualification requirements:

The ideal candidate will have 3 GCSE’s (or equivalent) at grades A-C in any subject, plus GCSE English and Maths (or equivalents) at grade D or above.


Working week:

5 days per week,

Monday – Friday,

9am – 5pm,

37.5hrs per week [all details will be confirmed with the employer]



£180 per week
