During your two years you will be learning the roles and responsibilities of both Room Attendant and Supervisors.
Room Attendants are responsible for cleaning the hotel bedrooms and bathrooms and might be required to complete additional cleaning tasks in the back of house and public areas. Ensuring that hotel rooms are clean, tidy and inviting for guests.
The role of a Room Attendant is a practical and manual job which includes bending, carrying, standing and pushing/pulling equipment.
After year one you will progress to become a Housekeeping Supervisor – A Housekeeping Supervisor is required to assist the Head Housekeeper in leading and coordinating all Housekeeping areas of the hotel. These are guest rooms, public areas, corridors, stairways and all staff areas including staff canteen, locker rooms and toilets, ensuring high quality customer care and satisfaction is delivered at all times. Ensuring the housekeeping department operates within the budgeted guidelines with guest and staff welfare being paramount at all times.
ROOM ATTENDANT MAIN DUTIES:
Cleaning hotel rooms to required standards and by required deadlines
Completing regular cleaning routines (task of the day)
Changing bed linen and towels
Dusting and polishing furniture
Replacing stock of guest supplies, such as shampoo, soap and brochures etc.
Re-stocking drinks in the mini-bar
Re-stocking and cleaning equipment used
Assisting in the servicing of public / back of house areas
Assisting with guest request or queries
Following departmental procedures
Liaising with team members, Supervisors, Managers and guests
SUPERVIORS MAIN DUTIES:
Ensure at commencement and finish of each shift that all keys are in the appropriate place and are signed for
Note any guest request and requirements, and ensure these are actioned
Ensure guest amenities board is kept up to date
Check allocated rooms ensuring that they reach the appropriate standards returning rooms as necessary
Report all maintenance issues and follow up
Support with the training and development of all team members
Liaise with housekeeping management and hotel colleagues as required
Ensure that all staff are carrying out tasks in accordance with the current Health & Safety and fire procedures laid down by the hotel
Ensure all staff have completed allocated rooms before finishing shift
Ensure all staff have labelled all lost property items as required
Ensure linen room staff carry out their duties as necessary
Check all corridors, lift areas and service areas are free from any obstructions
Ensure public and staff areas reach required standards
Assist with linen stock taking if required
Ensure housekeeping special cleaning is carried out as requested
Carry out any other reasonable tasks
To ensure all areas of the hotel and housekeeping departmental vision statements are carried out at all times in order to maintain guest service and staff well being

Working Week : 37.5 Hours Perk Week – Usually shift work, 5 out of 7 days depending on business needs.
Weekly Wage : £281.25
