Estio Training have an exciting new opportunity for a Junior IT Assistant based at the Cathedral Academy, part of the Trinity Multiple Academy Trust, based in Wakefield.

Advanced Level Apprenticeship
The succesful candidate will work as part of the Multiple Academy Trust (MAT) ICT support team, delivering a high quality IT support service for students, staff and visitors across the MAT.
Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:
Supporting the IT team to undertake, and carry out general tasks.
Dealing with incidents/requests via telephone, email and service desk in a professional friendly manner as well as providing ‘hands on’ technical support to establishments in the MAT.
Undertaking, and carrying out, work to a high and safe standard to contribute to the smooth and safe running of ICT functions.
Working as part of the IT team to take supervision in the form of receiving instructions, training, guiding to ensure that a quality service is provided.
Undertaking allocated duties, including answering the telephone, processing incidents and user requests through the service desk. Dealing with staff and student enquiries, ensuring that professionalism and high customer service standards are maintained.
Dealing with basic duties, such as password resets, issues with hardware and other duties.
Escorting visitors/contractors around the building, as necessary.
Dealing with enquiries from students and staff, taking messages and ensuring that messages are communicated in a timely manner.
Using all the equipment and machinery safety and efficiently after instruction.
Assisting with general duties allocated to the ICT team.
To be available, if required, for emergency work, short notice workload demands to ensure business continuity.
Other Specific Duties:
Attend staff and other meetings and participate in staff training and development events as required.
Actively engaging in the performance review process.
All support staff may be used to perform appropriate duties as and when required by the academy, commensurate with the salary grade of that post if it is higher than the employee’s current salary.
Working in the best interests of the Multiple Academies Trust (MAT), students, parents and staff.
Adhering to the academy’s policies and procedures with particular reference to Child Protection, Equal Opportunities, Teaching and Learning and Health and Safety.
Working flexibly, including some evening work, and to travel, as required, to meet the needs of the role.
This is a Trust role so while it is envisaged the primary location will be Cathedral Academy, Wakefield; there will be the need to work across sites to fit the needs of the trust. (Within reasonable distance of the primary location)

Motivated to learn and improve.
5 GCSEs at grades A*- C or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)

The Estio Training programme gives young people the opportunity to get hands on experience in the IT industry whilst still employed in a real paid job with no cost or debt.
Learners will receive ten weeks of intensive training. Whilst in the workplace, apprentices will also receive continual assessment, and help and guidance from a dedicated trainer who will be there to ensure that they get the most from their work experience.
This apprenticeship will give you a Level 3 Infrastructure Technician Standard with training in areas such as:
Functional skills, Maths L2 and English L2
PC Fundamentals & Customer Service Skills
Business Processes & Network Fundamentals
Coding & Logic
Networking and Architecture
Some of these modules will include an option to take an examination in order to receive a professional certificate.
