The company has a fantastic track record of supporting apprentices into the business, they are seeking a committed new apprentice to join their ‘tech’ team.

Vacancy Description:

This is an IT Support Apprenticeship and you will be trained to carry out the below duties:

  • 1stline support – Diagnose IT related problems for in-house services to include software & hardware, such as Servers, network equipment, Laptops, PCs, Printers and Telephones. As an apprentice you will be fully supported as you develop and extend your current skills.
  • Provide point of contact for receiving, logging and managing calls from internal staff via telephone and email, providing high levels of customer service.
  • Take ownership and management of user problems and follow up the status of problems on behalf of the user and communicate progress in a timely manner and liaise and manage the business expectations through to resolution.
  • Creating user accounts, reset passwords, create groups etc.

Desirable Skills:

  • Excellent communication Skills – Infrastructure technicians provide support to internal and external customers, helping them be productive when using technology to do their own jobs.
  • They use tools to problem-solve and troubleshoot non-routine problems, set people up on systems, provide support when they need it and fix issues to keep their organisations’ productivity going strong.
  • Good reading and writing skills as a foundation skill.
  • Strong interest in IT with a working knowledge of IT – ideally as the new apprentice you’ll be the type of person who has assembled or updated the components within your own PC.

Personal Qualities:

  • Strive and demonstrate passion for the job by looking for and contributing to areas within the business for continuous improvement where IT can assist with guidance or solutions.
  • Motivated to work & learn, have a positive forward thinking attitude and approach.
  • Keen to engage and become part of the team.

Desired Qualifications:

  • 3 x GCSE (or equivalent) at grades A-C in any subject, plus GCSE English and Maths (or equivalents) at grade C or above.

Future Prospects:

The company has an outstanding track-record of supporting and encouraging apprentices – during the past 5 years they have taken on 5 apprentices via QA and following successful completion of their apprenticeships each had continued with their employment with the company.


25 days holiday

Travel costs to QA for training sessions are covered.

Access to own transport is highly desirable due to the business location.

QA’s apprenticeships are funded by the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA), an executive agency of the Department for Education.

To be eligible for a Government funded apprenticeship you must have lived in the UK or European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 consecutive years.
