Estio Training have an exciting new opportunity for an IT Technician with Eclipse IT Services Ltd an IT company based in Barnsley.

Advanced Level Apprenticeship
The candidate will mainly be working as a part of the customer support team working on the support helpdesk but will also be working with the infrastructure team to ensure regular maintenance upgrades etc. are completed. They will also be involved with infrastructure installing new infrastructure, repairs, upgrades and replacements.
Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:
Answering telephone and email queries from both internal staff members and external customers.
Supporting customers via remote desktop applications such as TeamViewer.
Maintaining their internal infrastructure within the office, PCs, phones, networks etc.
Monitoring their servers and deployments for any hardware / software faults.
Completing regular maintenance on their servers and deployments.
Helping with the deployment of new servers and new instances of their applications.
Helping to update their servers and deployments with new versions of their applications.
Helping in diagnosing any faults with hardware or software on both internal infrastructure and remote servers.
Helping in their QA process by testing new versions of the company’s applications.
Writing simple scripts / programs to help automate monotonous tasks.
Writing queries to extract information from databases.
Compiling monthly reports, based on system usage statistics.
Helping to improve / coming up with new processes to increase efficiency within the support team.

The Estio Training programme gives young people the opportunity to get hands on experience in the IT industry whilst still employed in a real paid job with no cost or debt.
Learners will receive ten weeks of intensive training. Whilst in the workplace, apprentices will also receive continual assessment, and help and guidance from a dedicated trainer who will be there to ensure that they get the most from their work experience.
This apprenticeship will give you a Level 3 Infrastructure Technician Standard with training in areas such as:
Functional skills, Maths L2 and English L2
PC Fundamentals & Customer Service Skills
Business Processes & Network Fundamentals
Coding & Logic
Networking and Architecture
Some of these modules will include an option to take an examination in order to receive a professional certificate.
