Vacancy Full Description:

The applicant will be involved in the following key activities:
1. Investigating, resolving, and tracking customer’s hosting issues via ticketing system and telephone.
2. All aspects of hosting infrastructure support and maintenance.
• Building, installing and maintaining file servers
• Installing and maintaining hosting software (e.g. mail filtering software)
3. Collaborating with other engineers to ensure stability of the hosting environment.
4. Lending assistance to other departments as required.

Weekly Wage: £150.00

Working Week: 5 day week (one day for college)

Employer Description: WebxSolution Ltd is a small dynamic company working in a relaxed and positive environment. We build, manage, and provide technical support for medium to large companies, including Rail Delivery Group (RDG), Energy UK, and Missing People. We also provide a hosting and support service for small to medium companies and sole traders.

Expected apprenticeship duration: one year

Skills Required: The successful applicant must possess a good phone manner, show an aptitude for English and Maths, demonstrate his/her ability to think analytically, logically and critically, and understand and apply the fundamental principles and concepts of computer science, including computer architecture, networks and the internet and electronic mail. A working knowledge of domain name registration and virtual machines is desirable but not mandatory.

Personal Qualities:
The successful applicant must demonstrate patience, an eagerness to learn, and his/her ability to work well unsupervised and as part of a team.
Qualifications Required:
The successful applicant must possess a GCSE in Computer Science or ICT or equivalent and GCSE in English and Maths are mandatory.
Important Other Information: The successful applicant will be afforded the opportunity of entering the Joomla Certification Program, an industry recognised qualification that will further enhance his/her employability.
