The applicant will be involved in the following key activities:
1. Investigating, resolving, and tracking customer’s bespoke website component issues via ticketing system and telephone.
2. All aspects of website development from build to implementation using the following:
• Object Oriented Design
• Object Oriented Programming
• PHP, HTML, CSS and JavaScript
• MySQL.
3. Collaborating with others to ensure that deliverables meet timescale and requirements.
4. Lending assistance to other departments as required.
Weekly Wage: £150
Working Week: 5 day week (one day for college)
Future Prospects: The successful applicant can expect good employment opportunities within WebxSolution, a web-development company that uses leading open source content management systems for publishing web content, e.g. Joomla.

Employer Description:
WebxSolution Ltd is a small dynamic company working in a relaxed and positive environment. We
build, manage, and provide technical support for medium to large companies, including Rail
Delivery Group (RDG), Energy UK, and Missing People. We also provide a hosting and support
service for small to medium companies and sole traders.

Expected apprenticeship duration: one year
Skills Required:
The successful applicant must possess a good phone manner, show an aptitude for English and
Maths, demonstrate his/her ability to think analytically, logically and critically, and understand
and apply the fundamental principles and concepts of computer science, including abstraction,
decomposition, logic, algorithms, and data representation. A working knowledge of HTML,
Javascript, and CSS is desirable but not mandatory.

Personal Qualities:
The successful applicant must demonstrate patience, an eagerness to learn, and his/her ability to
work well unsupervised and as part of a team.
Qualifications Required:
The successful applicant must possess a GCSE in Computer Science or ICT or equivalent and GCSE
in English and Maths are mandatory.
Important Other Information:
The successful applicant will be afforded the opportunity of entering the Joomla Certification
Program, an industry recognised qualification that will further enhance his/her employability.
