Our client was founded in 2009. They provide a total solution from the planning stage of a project through to decommissioning. 

The engineers who works for them, come from OEM trained backgrounds and together have the knowledge and expertise gained from supporting customers from a wide variety of sectors including Military, Banking, Local authority and the private sector. 

They also support large data centres and country wide IT estates to customers, helping to streamline their infrastructure and maximise their IT budget. As well as specialising in the supply and maintenance of desktop to mid-range server equipment. 

They have accounts and strong relationships with some of the biggest IT equipment vendors in the country, enabling them to offer significant savings to customers.  

Job overview: 

Our client is seeking a Level 3 Infrastructure Technician Apprentice to provide hardware and software support to customers, either remotely or at the customer’s premises. 

Main role and responsibilities: 

  • Logging support calls and updating support progress on relevant systems
  • Fixing and maintaining equipment, for example printers, PCs, Laptops and servers
  • Diagnosing faults and recommending resolutions
  • Assist with design and installation of networks
  • Assist with system upgrading and installing new equipment
  • Set up new users’ accounts and profiles and deal with password issues
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with customers
  • Any other duties that arise based on the service needs of the customer that meet your skill level 

Desirable skills: 

  • Windows operating systems 
  • Microsoft Applications 
  • PC hardware 
  • Networking concepts 

Personal qualities: 

  • A working knowledge of Microsoft operating systems and software 
  • A basic knowledge of hardware and software 
  • Good communication skills in both spoken and written English 
  • Good customer service skills 
  • Problem solving skills 

Desired qualifications / Entry requirements:  

  • 3x GCSE’s at grade A-C in any subject. 
  • GCSE English and Maths (or equivalents) at grade D or above. 

Working week: 

40hrs per week.
