Description of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive, ambitious new team member, educated to a degree level in an Engineering based
to work on the A350 “wing” programme and part of the Manufacturing Engineering team. Any work experience within an
industrial environment would be a positive.
The Airbus A350 family consists of a -900 and 1000 variants and is the first carbon fibre aircraft build by Airbus, manufactured
within two main areas. Station 80 wing assembly and station 70 wing equipping.
The Airbus A350 has an impressive 99% operational reliability, operated by 14 different operators worldwide, already achieving
53, 000 flights across over 110 routes. The Airbus A350 as undertaken the fastest wide body production ramp up and In July
2017 delivered the 100th A350 XWB just 30 months after the first delivery. The A350 offers a 25% advantage in fuel burn,
operating costs and CO2 omissions against rival twin aisle aircraft.
The Manufacturing Engineering department plays a vital role in the programme and the A350 business to ensure all priorities
and commitments are met. The department is involved in all aspects of wing production, from product design, process
ownership, tooling specifications, mod planning, innovations and process adherence to enable our aircraft to build and delivered
on time, on cost to the required quality safely.
The function works within a vast transnational community consisting of a network of engineers and process leaders. Typical
functions are Research and technology, drilling technologies specialist, lineside engineering, innovations, project teams,
planning and industrial teams. Upcoming key business milestones come from the introduction of MSN 216 wing twist MOD, Rate
13 ramp up and a Wing equipping of the future project
You must be an undergraduate for the full duration of the placement studying towards a degree in the Aerospace or
Manufacturing Engineering.
Required skills:

– Work experience in a Industrial / Production environment preferred
– Proactive approach
– Evidence of effective teamwork
