Job overview / purpose

An exciting opportunity to start a career in Business and Marketing in the largest division in 3M.

You will gain experience in a wide variety of areas including marketing communications, price and product management.

Main responsibilities

The 3M Personal Safety Division (PSD) is a leading supplier of Personal Protective Equipment into a wide range of markets including Construction, Utilities, Transportation, Pharmaceutical and Manufacturing.

In this diverse and varied role, you will work with the PSD UK and Ireland Sales and Marketing team on a wide variety of tasks including:

  • Maintaining and updating product price information
  • Responding to pricing queries
  • Carrying out routine pricing analysis
  • Responding to general product enquiries
  • Supporting direct customer communications
  • Reviewing and maintaining web site product images and content
  • Supporting customers with product data requests
  • Conducting customer catalogue reviews – on and offline
  • Competitive monitoring through desk research
  • Creating product literature and sales tools such as data sheets
  • Organisation and maintenance of our shared site where important documents are shared and communicated to the sales team
  • Frequent use of excel and PowerPoint
  • Ad hoc duties and projects

Other experiences will include supporting customers & leads through the sales cycle and working in project teams with both sales and marketing team members.

The successful candidate will work as part of a well-established, high performing, friendly marketing team.

Desired qualities

  • Good planning and organisation skills, able to prioritise effectively and to work to tight deadlines
  • Computer literacy – Intermediate/advanced Excel skills desirable
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to work well as part of a team
  • A good level of English spelling and grammar
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • The ability to use your own initiative but also know when matters need to be referred to a supervisor

Desired qualification

3 x GCSE (or equivalent) at grades A-C in any subject, plus GCSE English and Maths (or equivalents) at grade D or above.

Working week

5 days per week,

Monday-Friday,

9am-5pm,

35 hours per week [average week, will be confirmed with the employer]

Salary

£12,943 per annum
