Intermediate Level Apprenticeship
A career in the Motor Trade waits for you if you are keen, enthusiastic, and willing to learn about mechanical, diagnostic and technical issues on a diverse range of vehicles. While completing a motor mechanics apprenticeship, your daily duties will include, but are not limited to:
Assisting an experienced technician in all aspects of servicing
Learning to use the latest EOBD equipment as well as general repairs
You will be instructed in all H&S matters and be able to communicate with staff and customers.

Requirements and prospects
Strong problem solving and good time management skills
You must have a real interest in a career in the motor trade
Able to work as part of a team
Good at technical activities
Able to work with hand tools
Enjoy practical and manual activities
Motivated to work hard and learn
Focus on new skills and have excellent attention to details
Ideally you will have 5 GCSE’s A-C grade, or equivalent, however, this is not necessary as you will be assessed on Maths and English
Progression to a Level 3 motor mechanics apprenticeship is available for the right candidate upon completion of the Level 2.
Things to consider
The current National Minimum Wage for an apprentice is £3.50 an hour. This rate applies to apprentices under 19 and those aged 19 or over who are in their first year. Apprentices must be paid at least the minimum wage rate for their age if they are aged 19 or over and have completed their first year. The minimum wage rates are £5.60 an hour for 18-20 year olds, £7.05 for 21-24 year olds and £7.50 for anyone aged 25 and over. Apprentices are paid for their normal working hours and training that’s part of their apprenticeship (usually one day per week).

Others simply don’;t have the time to bring their car to the garage and this is one of the reasons why we decided to collect the vehicles for their annual MOT test free of charge, within a fifteen-mile radius of our workshop. This convenient service has proven very popular with customers from all walks of life.We can collect from your home or workplace and the service usually takes about three hours from collection to return of a completed job (providing the car doesn’;t need much work.) Level 2 Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
Technical certificate in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Principles
Functional Skills in Maths, English & ICT

Personal Learning & Thinking Skills
All training will be delivered in the work place with no requirement for day release to college. You will be mentored by experienced members of staff while developing your skills to a nationally recognised industry qualification.
