Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:

Answering telephone and email queries from both internal staff members and external customers
Supporting the daily operations of the IT team including ticket resolution, system installations, upgrades and service monitoring
Reviewing and prioritising tickets in-line with agreed client SLAs and managing the escalation of tickets across teams within the business
Supporting customers via remote desktop applications such as TeamViewer
Maintaining their internal infrastructure within the office, PCs, phones, networks etc
Monitoring their servers and deployments for any hardware/software faults
Completing regular maintenance on their servers and deployments
Helping with the deployment of new servers and new instances of their applications
Helping to update their servers and deployments with new versions of their applications
Helping in diagnosing any faults with hardware or software on both internal infrastructure and remote servers
Helping in their QA process by testing new versions of the company’s applications
Writing simple scripts/programs to help automate monotonous tasks
Writing queries to extract information from databases
Compiling monthly reports, based on system usage statistics
Helping to improve/coming up with new processes to increase efficiency within the support team

Communicate with and support colleagues, customers, and suppliers in a professional manner
Demonstrate excellent English oral and written communication skills
Demonstrate proficiency in the use of standard applicable computing disciplines including change, configuration, problem, performance, and operational management
A passion for IT and Technology and a willingness to learn from experienced industry professionals
Thorough understanding and working knowledge of IT/telecommunications industry particularly networking, IP and VoIP
An ability to demonstrate excellent written, oral and interpersonal skills; be an effective communicator across all levels of the organisation
To have exceptional analytical skills
Must be able to work on own initiative and also as part of a team with limited guidance
Personal qualities
Genuine interest in telecommunications or computing
Excellent numeracy
Being enthusiastic, confident, positive and proactive is a must.
Pleasant and friendly manner, empathy for customers
Desired qualifications
5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and maths)

The Estio Training programme gives young people the opportunity to get hands on experience in the IT industry whilst still employed in a real paid job with no cost or debt.

Learners will receive ten weeks of intensive training. Whilst in the workplace, apprentices will also receive continual assessment, and help and guidance from a dedicated trainer who will be there to ensure that they get the most from their work experience.

This apprenticeship will give you a Level 4 Network Engineer standard with training in areas such as:

Functional Skills (maths, English and ICT) if required
Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR)
Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS)
Business Processes & Networking Fundamentals
Network Principles
Network Systems and Architecture
Network Security
CompTIA A+ Certification (Required only if learner is not A+ certified)
Some of these modules will include an option to take an examination in order to receive a professional certificate.
