Edgbaston Kindergarten is a private day nursery located close to city centre looking for a assistant to work along side the qualified staff in the setting. The setting provides day care for 0-5 years olds. You’ll trained in all aspects of the nursery working alongside their experienced and qualified team, whilst studying towards your qualification.

Intermediate Level Apprenticeship
The main role will include:
Looking after the children and helping them with activities.
To use your own initiative to plan events to help the children learn.
Be able to establish a good relationship with the children.
Help set up and clear away the children’s toys.
The role will vary on a daily basis but you will work as the Nursery apprentice which is a vital support in all running projects. The role will need you to use your initiative and be confident in your duties. The role will also require you to be a bubbly kind and helpful person.

A-C GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
The successful applicant might be able to progress onto Level 3 Childcare upon completion of the Level 2 programme.
Things to consider
The environment will be busy and fast paced. There will be shift work required which will involve early morning starts and late evening finishes.
About the employer
The Edgbaston Kindergarten is situated in Gillott Road, just off the Hagley Road. It is a private day nursery, which occupies the ground floor of a pair of Victorian semi-detached houses. There is a very large outdoor play area, which is fully enclosed and secure. The Kindergarten accommodates children aged from six weeks to five years old. Places are provided on a part or full time basis and we also offer government funded places for 2, 3 and 4 year olds.
Full Apprenticeship Training Level 2 will be provided by Interserve. All training done on site at work, no day release. You will also be working towards a technical certificate, ERR (employer rights and responsibilities) and functional skills in Maths, English and ICT if not already achieved.
