An exciting opportunity has arisen for dedicated and caring nursery assistant to join this fantastic childcare setting, while completing a childcare qualification at level 2 or 3 (Depending on experience)
As a leading nursery, based in Cowbridge and not far from Bridgend, we believe that learning through fun and adventure is great for children.
To provide care for children up to seven years old. Helping to oversee, maintain and organise a clean, tidy, child-friendly environment. To supervise activities, such as messy play, crafts, cooking, reading and outdoor/physical pursuits.
This role will also involve personal care including changing nappies and toilet training.
Some key tasks will include but are not limited to:
To plan, prepare and participate in a range of activities that promotes each child’s physical, intellectual and emotional needs to enable each child to reach their full potential.
To participate in a minimum of two planned activities per day and to be confident at arranging spontaneous activities in line with Flying Start planning. You will also be expected to complete regular observations weekly in your key children.
Staff must ensure that the planned activities come from the children’s next steps, observations and interests, as the EYFP framework requires and all staff must play an active part in planning, setting development and evaluation.
Ensure that the environment is well set out and that resources are well presented and accessible and cleaned on a regular rota. Continuous Provision activities must be set out each morning and be in accordance with planning.
Supervise snacks and or meals and ensure that these times are a time of pleasant social sharing. Staff should sit and interact with their key children where possible and be a good role model.
To encourage where appropriate, all children to use cutlery, serve themselves, and sit at the tables during meal and snack times as this is an important element of planning to support learning and development.
To help children acquire self-help skills, including dressing, feeding, toilet training and an awareness of personal hygiene as this is an important element of planning to support learning and development.
Age 17 years +
