Description of the job
The intern will be co-located with a dedicated wing engineering team in the Filton plant responsible for the complete assembly of the A400M wing and A350 Gear Beam Assembly. You will be exposed to it all! This is an excellent opportunity as you will not only gain an insight into engineering but also the operational (plant) side of Airbus. The plant engineering and continuous product development team, work cohesively with plant management, quality/quality excellence, manufacturing engineering/tooling, logistics, hi-lift, systems and Chief Engineers to ensure the plant and the fleet are enabled.

Tasks & accountabilities
The plant engineering and continuous product development team, are responsible for:

Supporting build support queries and plant multi-functional teams
Answering and validating non-conformances, design query notes
Answering engineering query notes and quality event.
Identifying and validating plant improvement modifications
Technical/Interface support to our suppliers and final assembly line, when required
Assessing safety and airworthiness task
Supporting major in-service issues
Assessing and validating modifications (major and clerical)

Required skills
As the successful candidate, you must be able to demonstrate the following:

You must be an undergraduate for the full duration of the placement studying towards a degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering degree or similar.

Interest in Airbus and Aerospace technologies and materials
Interest in working within a support/reactive environment where you can develop new skills
Competent in using windows and google
Be able to work as an individual or as part of a team
Have the ability to flex your working hours (within the agreed corporate flexible working agreement) to support deliverables
Fluent in English both written and verbal
