You will be part of the Filton Plant Manufacturing Engineering Organisation. In this role you will have the opportunity to gain experience in 3 diverse and challenging areas, Plant Services, Business Improvement and Metallic Additive Manufacturing.

Tasks & accountabilities
Business areas:

Plant Services

In this role you will gain an insight to Airbus Production, analysis of business performance, improvement, project management and subcontractor management. Including:

Enabling the integration of the production plan and service plans to ensure equipment and support availability.
Working with senior management to gauge subcontractor fitness and adaptability to customer needs.
Support the businesses digital transformation & use of analytics toolsets
Develop understandings of legislation that impacts the business.
Business Improvement

In this business area you will take a holistic view of the business, observing how it operates, what performance is and look in to how to improve the business in terms of Time, Cost and Quality.

Work within the Performance and Improvement Team on existing and future projects across current Production, New Products.
Provide support to the manufacturing community improvement activities (Lean Manufacturing) driving Airbus standards
With the business striving to drive digitalisation of existing and new process
Project examples 3D Printing, Machine Automation, statistical/data analysis activities
Innovation and Improvement ideas – including Leading improvement projects to completion
Metallic Additive Manufacturing

Within this placement there is an opportunity to develop & share additive manufacturing technologies for component cost and lead-time benefits. This placement will be part of the recognised Reference Centre for metallic powder-bed Additive Manufacturing.

Working in collaboration with machine suppliers with the objective of industrial qualification
Collaboration with suppliers to develop post processing capabilities
Integration of process within process flows, maintenance systems, training
Facility project management activities covering, work instructions, EH&S, consumable management.
Business Support to improvement projects
This job requires an awareness of any potential compliance risks and a commitment to act with integrity, as the foundation for the Company’s success, reputation and sustainable growth.

You must be an undergraduate for the full duration of the placement, studying towards a degree in:
