A great opportunity has arisen to join ROAD, a West London PR and communications agency specialising in health and wellbeing. With a proven interest in understanding all media channels from print media to social and digital, you will receive the training and support to eventually be able to develop offline, social and digital communication strategies that hit the target.

The candidate should have excellent personal communications skills, an inner confidence and ability to listen, learn and ask questions. No day is the same, in a fun, fast-paced environment in a great office space. The business is on a planned and sustainable growth trajectory and new opportunities arise all the time.

The Role
The role is diverse and challenging in an exciting, hard-working and social environment. You will work as part of a team to create content, manage various channels on communication including the media (PR), social and digital. You will be required to quickly understand each medium, how it works, and how one can influence target consumers and other stakeholders via various means.

You will have a creative edge, be analytical, have excellent interpersonal skills, communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in written communications.

The right person will have a positive approach and want to bring their own personality to the role.

Training in digital marketing, PR and marketing communication will be provided and you will be assigned a mentor and coach. ROAD is very keen to support those wanting to learn and push themselves. It’s a real hands-on, fast track, fast-paced place to work. And fun.

Key Responsibilities
Liaise on a daily basis with clients and the media, often via telephone and email
Build strong relationships and networks with colleagues, clients and the media
Monitor the media, including newspapers, magazines, journals, broadcasts, newswires, social media sites and blogs, for opportunities for ROAD’s clients
Work as part of ROAD’s account teams to develop client proposals and implement the PR activity
Prepare regular client reports and attend client meetings
Research, write and distribute press releases to targeted media
Promote news stories and features to the media, known as ‘selling in’
Collate, analyse and evaluate media coverage
Manage events, including press conferences and promotional events
Attend and promote client events to the media
Research and commission market research
Undertake research for new business proposals and present them to potential new clients

Be a self-starter and socially confident, understand, consume and enjoy both on and offline media
Full of initiative and ideas, instinctively offering good solutions for problems, not simply flagging that there is one!
Have the creative and sales resources to get editorial placed in the media
Demonstrate a desire to work in PR and have a particular interest in health and wellbeing
Be excited about the opportunities and challenges of joining our business
Organises and prepare for client meetings/events
Excellent understanding of UK media landscape
Understanding of digital channels and opportunities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
High level of initiative, autonomy and self-motivation
Excellent time management skills
Enthusiasm, dedication and willingness to work hard
European outlook (some travel may be involved)
Clear and concise writing style, good grammar
Eye for detail

£23k for graduate-level candidate
