JOB TITLE: RTT Pathway Coordinator apprentices

The post holder will support the management of the Referral to Treatment (RTT) framework and act as the main administrative resource by supporting the validation and pathway tracking process.
The post holder will ensure that patients waiting for treatment on an 18 week RTT pathway are validated, and their treatment pathways are expedited in line with service and patient expectations. They will ensure that all potential breaches of the target are escalated and managed appropriately by working closely with the administrative teams and the Inter Provider Transfers (IPT) Lead. They will work with service managers and clinicians to ensure patients are treated in a timely manner.
The post holder is required to liaise and work closely with clinical and administrative leads within the organisation. Key relationships will be with t h e head of outpatients, operational managers, the central bookings team, the booked admissions team, diagnostic booking teams, the information team and service managers, including those within community settings.
• Communicate with clinical and administrative teams on RTT rules and guidance, including clock start and stop rules.
• Co-ordinate and carry out manual validation of data prior to submission of weekly and monthly RTT reports – by checking details in EPR, referral/clinic letters or case notes.
• Provide guidance and support to clinical and administration teams on recording of clock starts and stops.
• Make corrections to the data as appropriate such as establishing and recording accurate clock start dates where unknown and ensuring 100% data completeness.
• Work closely with team leader, General Manager for Access and Information team colleagues to ensure that RTT reporting is robust and accurate.
• Assist in carrying out regular audits to measure the quality of RTT clinic outcomes.
• Identify bottlenecks, long waits or inefficiencies on the RTT pathway and flag to service managers to avoid breaches of the target where possible.
• Work with Management Development Tem teams and bookings teams to help ensure patient pathways are expedited in line with RTT rules, internal operational policies and to ensure that patients are treated equitably and on time.
• Work closely with the IPT Lead, team leader and General Manager for Access by ensuring accuracy of RTT clock stops for internal and external referrals received.
• Identify any gaps or amendments in recording accurate clock starts or stops by ensuring the data is updated in EPR or in validating reports to ensure robust audit trail.
• Work with multi-disciplinary teams to help improve data accuracy recorded within EPR.
• Work with bookings teams to help support, monitor and inform booking efficiency in outpatient, diagnostic and inpatient/day case bookings.

• Educated to GCSE Level in Math and English
• NVQ or management qualification
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
