The role will involve working as a member of the software development team. This is a great opportunity to gain a vast amount of business experience in a growing international technology business.

Your duties and responsibilities in this role will consist of:

Reading technical specifications which describe what the software you will produce will do, and how it will be implemented. This could be a completely new piece of software or could involve making changes to an existing software item.
Production of software code in a variety of languages.
Testing your code and other developers code.
Delivering all required elements of a software solution.
Investigating new and updated software packages and software solutions.
Requirements and prospects
Desired skills
Enthusiasm to produce and deliver the highest quality software which provides an excellent user experience.
A positive approach to learning and gaining new skills through teamwork and training opportunities.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office.
Knowledge of at least one software programming language to a competent level of ability. This can be any language on any platform.
Experience is desirable, but not essential.
A good work ethic with confident personality is essential.

Trustworthiness.
Able to work in small teams or in some cases on their own.
Desired qualifications
5 GCSEs at grades A*- C or equivalent (including English Language and Maths)

Training provider
The Estio Training programme gives young people the opportunity to get hands on experience in the IT industry whilst still employed in a real paid job with no cost or debt.

Learners will receive ten weeks of intensive training. Whilst in the workplace, apprentices will also receive continual assessment, and help and guidance from a dedicated trainer who will be there to ensure that they get the most from their work experience.

This apprenticeship will give you a Level 3 Software Development Technician Standard with training in areas such as:

Functional skills, Maths L2 and English L2
Software Design Fundamentals
User Interface Design
System Development
Software Development Context & Methodologies
Database Software
Programming
Some of these modules will include an option to take an examination in order to receive a professional certificate.
