We are looking for an enthusiastic Medical Receptionist to join our small friendly team at The Village Surgery in Bramhall. The position will involve dealing with patients both face to face and on the telephone whilst also undertaking a range of administration duties.

To support the Practice vision of providing a high quality service to patients
Have respect and care for patients and colleagues
Understand and maintain confidentiality both in and outside of work at all times due to the sensitive nature of the service

To identify self-development opportunities and meet agreed timescales for submission as part of e-learning
Main Responsibilities and Duties:

To answer telephone calls and deal with patient enquiries
To work on the reception desk, dealing face to face with patient requests
To contact patients relaying messages as directed by the clinical team, both verbally and written
To prepare repeat prescriptions in line with practice protocols
Undertake photocopying of patient notes if requested by 3rd parties
Fax / post / email information as required by the clinical team
Prepare the post and take to the post office if there are special delivery instructions
Input and update registration details on the clinical system
General office duties incl shredding, faxing etc
Other activities as directed by the Partners and the Manager

Things to consider
The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £3.70 from 1st April 2018. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.

About the employer
The Village Surgery is GP Practice that provides Quality Care at the heart of Bramhall Village. The practice has 3 GP partners, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, 2 Practice Nurses and 2 Health Care assistants. There is a small team of receptionists and Administrators who the apprentice will be working directly alongside. We have a list size of 5,700 patients.
