Description of the job
Start date: 1st July 2019
Duration: 12 Months

The A400M Plan and Distribute Continuous Improvement support intern will assist the Supply Chain Logistics (SCL) Operations
Mangers by providing key support in enabling the implementation of Lean Manufacturing techniques and Lean Logistical
techniques into an operational logistics environment. The role will ensure that the SCL function deploys recognized best
practices in its planning and distributing processes, whilst at the same time developing to meet both A400M business and SCL
functional targets.

Tasks & accountabilities
The role will develop and oversee ongoing changes to the A400M SCL strategy, calculate budget requirements and review the
SCL functional processes as they progress to tight time-scales and budgets, ensuring quality and standardised procedures meet
all relevant CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) and JAR (Joint Aviation Regulations) requirements.

The role will be varied, requiring some experience of project management and knowledge of lean principles. The role requires excellent team building, networking, influencing and problem solving abilities allowing you to enjoy challenging situations with the
drive and commitment to push a complete solution to its finish.

Required skills
You must be an undergraduate for the duration of the placement studying towards a degree in one of the following:

Supply Chain
Project Management
Business Studies

A focus on supply chain and logistics university modules, a strong understanding, or experience is highly desirable.

In addition, the following skills are required:

Knowledge or experience of planning and/or logistics
Knowledge of Lean tools and techniques
Strong IT capabilities
MRP (Materials Requirements Planning) and SAP understanding will be beneficial but is not essential
Able to work well in a team with strong interpersonal communication skills
